标题:Impact mechanism of turbine control of DFIG-based wind turbines on damping of power system oscillations

摘要:The penetration of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind turbines (WTs) is suspected to have some impacts on power system oscillations. In order to find out the relationships, several models have been established in previous studies. However, those models mostly overlooked the influences of the turbine control of WTs, including maximum power point tracking (MPPT), pitch control, and speed control. This paper proposes a new DFIG-based WT model, which enables further research on the impact rules and mechanisms of turbine control on the damping of power system oscillations. In detail, a linearized WT model, which can explicitly describe the external characteristics of WTs, is first derived. With the aid of this model, the differences introduced by the MPPT and the pitch compensation under different operation areas are compared. Finally, the impact rules and mechanisms of DFIG-based WT on power system oscillations are clearly explained through the interaction analysis based on the proposed model and the model of synchronous generators (SGs).
